Arms and d'fence
Arms and d' fence was twenty eight years in the making, originally being completed and exhibited in 1986. It was re-interpreted and exhibited again in 2008.
The ivy structure growing though the chain link fence was the boundary of a family home, the ivy being deliberately being woven though the links. The sand on the base was sourced from the virgin islands.
The piece has many meanings- 'Are the hands holding up the fence or is the fence holding up the hands'
